Tamoto Bed

Developed for HAY by Shane Schneck, the Tamoto bed was designed with multifunctionality in mind, making it easy and intuitive to integrate into a modern lifestyle. Tamoto is influenced by the draping quality of the kimono's sleeves, which inspired Shane's innovative use of fold-over fabric over the bed frame.

The soft, draped headboard is counterbalanced by the generously proportioned steel tube frame, creating a comfortable, contemporary sofa bed hybrid that is not exclusively intended for sleeping, but also as a base for reading, working or watching TV and other activities.

With a compact, easy-to-assemble design, removable headboard and recyclable materials, functionality was considered at every step of the design process.

Available in a variety of sizes and selected soft fabrics, Tamoto is a versatile bed that fits most bedroom sizes and design styles.

HAY recommends using standard bed slats and standard mattresses with Tamoto bedding for the ideal all-in-one solution.
